Olá, amigos.

Na série E Roberto Carlos cantou..., este fotolog continua enumerando canções que Roberto Carlos interpretou apenas em seus shows. A série foi sugerida por Everaldo Farias no fotolog /rei_rc, e agora é republicada em homenagem aos posts do parceiro Blog Roberto Carlos Braga, idealizado por James Lima, na série O meu coração é como um palco.

A música de hoje, presente também no espetáculo Concerto, contribuiu, décadas depois, para um número primoroso em shows de Roberto Carlos. A maneira como foi "pensada" esta canção em sua gravação original (feita por Richard Harris) inspirou o maestro Eduardo Lages a fazer o memorável arranjo da música Cavalgada, que desde o show Detalhes (de 1987) aparece em shows do Roberto.

Eduardo conta que esta música (que dura pouco mais de sete minutos e tem solo de cerca de um minuto e meio) tocava em rádio na época de seu lançamento. O maestro de RC nessas últimas três décadas já afirmou também que sente pena por não ter visto Roberto cantar esta música - em Concerto, RC tinha como arranjador de seus espetáculos o maestro Chiquinho de Moraes. A música está presente no DVD Com amor, lançado por Eduardo Lages no ano de 2007.

Em relação a esta música, Luiz Carlos Miéle (então produtor de shows de Roberto Carlos ao lado de Ronaldo Bôscoli) contou uma curiosidade. Fascinado com a letra e a imponência da canção, Roberto quis conhecer o local que dá título à música de Jimmy Webb. Mas, quando chegaram lá, viram um parque abandonado, entregue às moscas. Provavelmente, fosse melhor continuar com a magia que a letra proporciona.
